BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND – Donny Schatz started 2015 the same way he concluded his incredible 2014 campaign – by winning a Sprint car feature at Ausdeck Patios Archerfield Speedway near Brisbane. Schatz wheeled the Scott Jennings Racing Crimsafe backed No. 15 J&J to victory in the 40-lap main event to kick off the new year Thursday night.
The evening began with Schatz qualifying second in the field of 28 cars and racing from eighth to second in heat two. He raced from eighth to fifth in his next heat. The six-time and reigning World of Outlaws champion started the main event 10th and promptly worked his way into the lead. Once in front, he drove away from the competition to score his second consecutive victory.
Schatz will return to action Saturday night to run the postponed round 7 of the Supercheap Auto Sprintcar Track Championship event before Sunday’s World Series Sprintcars event.
