LAS VEGAS (Feb. 20, 2015) – Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz will make an appearance at the J.D. Byrider store in Las Vegas – 5600 West Sahara Ave. – from 5 to 7 p.m. PST March 3 in advance of the seventh annual FVP Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Schatz joins his fellow World of Outlaws (WoO) competitors in Las Vegas for the annual two-race program at the half-mile, dirt oval leading into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Kobalt 400. Schatz earned his sixth WoO championship in 2014 and began his title defense last week during Florida Speedweeks in the season-opening DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.
The victory gave him 50 wins since the beginning of the 2013 campaign, including a triumph in last year’s Outlaw Showdown finale at Las Vegas. Schatz will pilot the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance/J.D. Byrider/J&J March 4-5 looking to add to his eight career victories at the track – the most of any driver. The two-night showdown at Las Vegas includes two complete nights of qualifying, heat races, a dash and a 30-lap A-Feature. WoO Sprint cars are scheduled to hit the track just after 7 p.m. each night.
The March 3 appearance promotes an 18-year partnership between TSR and J.D. Byrider, the nation’s largest used car and finance franchise. Schatz and his crew will be at the dealership and interact with fans. Those attending will also get an up-close look at the racecar Schatz will compete in and also have a chance to check out the team’s 53-foot race hauler.
