FARGO, N.D. – His schedule is seemingly nonstop and that’s just how seven-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz likes it. Following another successful campaign in Australia, the Fargo, North Dakota resident returned to the United States and has been on the go for the past two weeks.

After a brief 36 hours in North Dakota, Schatz ventured to Arizona to compete in the Wild West Shootout at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona for the third consecutive year. He wheeled his No. 15 Fastlane/Fargo Petro/K3 Farms Rocket into the Dirt Late Model main events in three of the four races. His charge from 9th to fourth in the opener highlighted his drive forward in the desert that also included runs from 12th to 8th and 24th to 14th.

While racing in Arizona, it was announced that his incredible 2015 season resulted in him being named 2015 410 Sprint Car Driver of the Year by the National Sprint Car Poll by a voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers.  The 2015 Knoxville Nationals winner, Chico Gold Cup Race of Champions winner and World of Outlaws (WoO) champion, earned all twenty-five (25) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll.

He returned home last week and made his way back to MetroFlex of Fargo in preparation for his 2016 campaign and then spent the weekend in Des Moines with his nieces who were racing go karts. This week started with the driver of the Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J working in Brownsburg at the Tony Stewart Racing shop.
