BARBERVILLE, Fla. – Donny Schatz raced from 18th to 11th in night two with the DIRTcar Late Model Series. Schatz wheeled his No. 15 Fastlane/Petro Fargo/K3 Farms Rocket into the main event after qualifying third in his group and finishing third in heat six. He spent the first half of the race searching the half-mile, dirt oval from his outside ninth row starting position. He was in 18th on lap 15 and then steadily advanced during the second half of the feature. He moved from 17th to 14th on lap 16 and then reached 13th on lap 26. Schatz raced into 11th on lap 27 and narrowly missed capturing a second consecutive top-10 finish.
On Monday night, Schatz started 10th and finished eighth in the 30-lap DIRTcar Nationals Late Models feature event.
He’ll be back in action Wednesday night for the finale with the DIRTcar Late Models and then will race three nights with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models.
