FARGO, N.D. (August 1, 2018) – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series’ Month of Money continues this weekend in Pevely, Missouri. Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 plays host to $20,000-to-win, 55-lap features on both Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4.

Last year, Mother Nature washed out the final night of the Ironman 55, resulting in a yearlong postponement of the 55-lap feature.

Donny Schatz enters the weekend with his largest points lead of the season – a 202 point cushion over Brad Sweet. Schatz’s 15 wins on the season are nine more than any other driver on the circuit. The nine-time and defending World of Outlaws champion also has a series-leading 34 top fives and 41 top tens.

Schatz has one career victory at the high-banked one-third mile bullring that is Federated Auto Parts Raceway, which came on August 7, 2015, but has never won the Ironman 55.

Last weekend, Schatz and the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team were in action in the Empire State. Action began Friday, July 27 at Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, New York.

Schatz nearly picked up his first Quick Time award of the season in time trials, but timed in second behind Sweet. Following a second-place run in his heat and a Sears Craftsman Dash win, Schatz rolled from the pole for the 30-lap feature. Schatz had his hands full with Sweet and David Gravel all race long and crossed the line in third at the checkers.

After a day off, racing continued Sunday, July 29 at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, New York. Schatz crashed in time trials, forcing him to start last in his heat race. The Fargo, N.D. driver started 15th in the feature and picked up KSE Hard Charger honors finishing sixth.

Following this Saturday’s race at Federate Auto Parts at I-55, Schatz will head back to his hometown in Minot, N.D. on Sunday, August 5 to compete with the Northern Late Model Racing Association. Schatz has five career wins with the NLRA Late Models. Most recently, he recorded a fifth-place finish at River Cities Speedway on June 15th.
