FARGO, N.D. (July 26, 2019) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series makes its second stop to Mechanicsburg, Pa. this weekend to take on the Pennsylvania Posse at Williams Grove Speedway for the Summer Nationals.
Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team come into this weekend’s doubleheader riding a wave of momentum following a solid four days at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Schatz picked up his fifth and sixth wins of the season at the July 17th #LetsRaceTwo event and the July 19th Knight Before the Kings Royal. In between those two events, the 10-time and defending series champion finished second on July 18th at the Jokers Wild.
Following those three solid outings, Saturday night’s Kings Royal fell short of expectations as Schatz brought his Toco Warranty / Ford Performance machine home in the sixth position.
The Outlaws then traveled to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. on Tuesday for the $25,000-to-win Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. After going fourth-quick in his qualifying group and winning heat race four, Schatz drove from seventh to fifth in the 40-lap main event.
Schatz currently has a streak of 14 consecutive top 10 finishes, dating back to June 15th at Knoxville Raceway. During that streak, Schatz has recorded nine podium finishes and three of his six wins on the season.
The Month of Money continues this weekend at Williams Grove Speedway with the $20,000-to-win Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals. Schatz has 19 career wins at the fast, flat half-mile oval, but hasn’t visited victory lane at the speedway since May 15th, 2015. Since his last win, however, the Fargo driver has tallied 15 top fives and 11 podium finishes.
Schatz scored a second-place finish on May 18th earlier this year in the Outlaws’ first appearance of the season to Williams Grove.
Entering tonight’s action, Schatz sits second in the point standings, 22 markers behind Brad Sweet.
Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank Toco Warranty, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation & Security and J&J Auto Racing for their continued support.
