FARGO, N.D. (July 15, 2019) – With 287 career World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Series wins, there aren’t very many tracks on the circuit at which Donny Schatz hasn’t won. That list got even smaller on Saturday night as the 10-time and defending series champion raced his way to victory lane at Wilmot Raceway for the first time in his career.

“Hell yeah, I won at Wilmot! That’s off the books,” exclaimed an excited Schatz after picking up his fourth win of the season.

“The older you get, you probably put more of a fine-tooth comb on places you haven’t won at and this was one of them.”

Schatz set the tone early in the night by going fastest in hot laps and backing that up by turning the second fastest time in qualifying. From there, the Fargo driver was unbeatable, winning his heat, the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash and leading all 40 laps in the main event.

When the green flag waved on the feature, Schatz had his hands full with fellow front row starter, Daryn Pittman. Schatz was able to edge out Pittman to lead the opening lap and, once out front, the driver of the Toco Warranty / Ford Performance No. 15 checked out. Schatz ran the remainder of the race unchallenged en route to the win.

The Greatest Show on Dirt was also in action on Friday night at Michigan’s Hartford Speedway. After starting third in the feature, Schatz fell back to seventh in the early stages. However, the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian machine began to come around in the second half of the race as Schatz charged his way forward to come home with a third-place finish.

Schatz now has a streak of nine consecutive top 10 finishes entering Tuesday’s Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park, a race in which he is a four-time and defending race winner. Six of those results were podium efforts. Schatz’s consistency has cut Brad Sweet’s points lead down to 38 markers heading into the upcoming five-race week in Ohio.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank Toco Warranty, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation & Security and J&J Auto Racing for their continued support.
