Schatz looks to cap off California swing on high note this weekend

FARGO, N.D. (September 13, 2019) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series heads to two fast California speedways this weekend to wrap up the final West Coast swing of the 2019 season. 

First up is the Stockton Dirt Track tonight, Friday, Sept. 13th. In eight starts at the three-eighths mile oval, Schatz has an average finish of 4.1 backed by three wins, six top-fives and only one finish outside of the top 10.

His most recent win came on March 19th, 2016 where he started sixth and led five laps. Schatz swept the weekend in 2016 as he won the night before after leading 14 laps. 

On Saturday night, the Toco Warranty / Ford Performance / Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team will head to the scenic Calistoga Speedway. Entering Saturday’s event, Schatz has a streak of seven consecutive top-five finishes at the semi-banked half-mile oval, dating back to 2014. During that streak, he has two victories which came on Sept. 16th, 2017 and April 12, 2015. Furthermore, Schatz hasn’t finished outside of the top-10 at Calistoga since 2006. Over his past 10 starts, he has an average finish of 3.7.

Saturday will be Schatz’s 42nd appearance at Calistoga Speedway. 

Coming into this weekend’s action, Schatz sits second in the standings two points behind Brad Sweet. 

A busy four-race week last week yielded four top 10s for Schatz. The week was highlighted a drive that took the 10-time and defending series champion from 24th to eighth on Saturday, Sept. 7th at Silver Dollar Speedway on the final night of the Gold Cup Race of Champions. 

Schatz leads the World of Outlaws with 53 top 10 finishes in 57 starts.
