BRISBANE, Queensland (December 26, 2019) – Donny Schatz visited victory lane on Thursday at Archerfield Speedway. Schatz grabbed the lead on lap 17 of 35 before cruising to the win.

“The car really didn’t feel that good early on, but the guys did a phenomenal job all night. We knew it was going to be tricky the first 10, 12, 15 laps, and it was,” said Schatz after the race in an interview with Archerfield Speedway. “We got into lapped traffic and I was able to capitalize on Luke Oldfield’s mistake and get ourselves a victory. (The car) felt good at the end and that’s what’s important.”

Oldfield dominated the first half of the race, but once the leaders encountered lapped traffic, Schatz reeled him in and made his move.

Schatz led the final 18 circuits and picked up the win by a margin of 1.84 seconds over Oldfield.

The 10-time World of Outlaws champion will return to action at Archerfield Speedway on Saturday, Dec. 28th.
