FARGO, N.D. (June 22, 2020) – The first World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series crown jewel event of the season is upon us as Jackson Motorplex is set to host the 42nd running of the AGCO Jackson Nationals.
Schatz, titlist of the 40th annual Jackson Nationals in 2018, has three career World of Outlaws wins at Jackson Motorplex. Two of the wins (2006 and 2013) came on the original half-mile configuration.
The action at Jackson Motorplex kicks off on Thursday, June 25th, and continues through Saturday, June 27th with $30,000 awarded to the winner of Saturday night’s main event.
While this weekend’s event will be the first for the Outlaws at Jackson Motorplex this season, Schatz already has a visit to the four-tenths mile oval under his belt.
The 10-time World of Outlaws champion made a rare appearance with the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Sprints on May 15th during the Great Lakes Shootout.
Schatz had a strong night, collecting a heat win, dash win, and a podium finish after leading the main event early on.
“I always like getting back to Jackson. That was one of the first tracks I raced at back when I started my career in the early 90s. That Jackson Nationals trophy from 2018 is one of the most prized possessions in my trophy case,” said Schatz. “That win meant a lot. It would be even better to pick up another one this weekend.”
Schatz will enter the three-race weekend sitting second in the World of Outlaws point standings, 66 markers behind Brad Sweet.
Schatz was in action last weekend as the Greatest Show on Dirt visited Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana on Friday and Saturday. The Fargo, N.D. driver finished 11th and 16th in each feature, respectively.
All three nights of racing from Jackson Motorplex can be seen on DIRTVision.com.
Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
