Fargo, N.D. (July 7, 2020) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season continues full speed ahead this coming week with four races slated over a five-day stretch.
It kicks off on Friday, July 10th at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa, followed by a visit to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 11th. From there, the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing team will make the 250-mile tow overnight to Terre Haute, Indiana for a date at the big, fast half-mile of Terre Haute Action Track. After a day off on Monday, the four-race swing will conclude on Tuesday at Ohio’s Attica Raceway Park for the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic.
Schatz is the most recent winner at three of the four upcoming tracks. The one track at which he isn’t the most recent winner, Terre Haute Action Track, he finished second when the Outlaws were there last in 2018 and won the race before that in 2014.
Entering this weekend’s races, Schatz is currently third in the standings 166 points behind leader Brad Sweet.
“I’m looking forward to this stretch of racing this week,” said Schatz. “We’ve had success at all four tracks we’ll be visiting and I’m confident we can put our Carquest Auto Parts / Ford Performance car back in victory lane.”
Last weekend, both the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models were in action for the three-day Independence Day Spectacular at Cedar Lake Speedway. Schatz claimed a second-place finish in the first-ever elimination race on Thursday night before finishing 11th in the main event on Friday and 14th on Saturday.
“My thoughts are with my fellow North Dakota racer, Mark Dobmeier. Mark has always been a great competitor and I wish him a speedy and full recovery,” said Schatz. Dobmeier, of Grand Forks, N.D., received injuries to his back as a result of a wreck during his heat race on Friday at Cedar Lake.
