FARGO, N.D. (September 15, 2020) – Dodge City Raceway Park hosted the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for the 25th and 26th time in series history over the weekend.

Schatz began the weekend by racing to a podium finish in Friday night’s feature.

The night began with Schatz timing in third quick out of the 22 cars checked in before the 10-time champion picked up a heat race win.

After driving to a third place finish in the dash from fourth, Schatz rolled off on the inside of row two for the 30-lap feature.

Schatz raced in a podium position for the majority of the main event. Late in the going, Schatz closed in on Shark Racing teammates, Jacob Allen and Logan Schuchart, who ran first and second, respectively. Schatz wasn’t able to find a way around either driver on the fast, tacky and narrow racing surface as he crossed the checkers in third to collect his 18th top five finish of the season.

“Congrats to Jacob. That was fun to watch him win the race. It was a good race. I thought we were gonna be able to get there, but just couldn’t seem to make anything happen. Some nights are like that, and tonight was one of those,” Schatz said. “My guys did a great job, got us in a good spot. We just have to be a little bit better.”

The following night, the Greatest Show on Dirt returned to the three-eighths mile oval. Schatz timed in 11th quick and finished third in his heat to secure a spot in the main event.

Starting eighth on the grid, Schatz was able to move his way up to sixth before the conclusion of the 30-lapper.

Schatz currently sits third in the point standings, 80 markers behind leader Brad Sweet.

This weekend, the Outlaws will head to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma on Friday, September 18th, followed by a trip to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas on Saturday, September 19th.

Schatz has never won at Lawton Speedway as the Outlaws haven’t visited the speedway since 1985. The Fargo driver has three career wins at Devils Bowl, with the most recent on April 28, 2018.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
