FARGO, N.D. (October 13, 2020) – Five more races remain on the 2020 schedule for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series with two more on tap this coming Friday and Saturday night. Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing team are eager to get back on track as they return to two tracks where they have enjoyed much success.
Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas is slated for Friday night with Saturday being the second running of the Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri.
Schatz is the most recent winner at both speedways. Schatz scored the win at Lakeside Speedway last October. The win was his first with the FPS 410, giving Ford their first World of Outlaws feature win in 21 years.
The win came in Schatz’s third start with the FPS 410.
Schatz’s success at Lakeside extends well beyond last season. Since 2015, the 10-time champion has collected four podium finishes in the last five events at the speedway, two of which were wins.
Schatz has a similar track record at Lake Ozark Speedway. The Outlaws have competed twice at the one-third mile oval so far this season. The driver of the CARQUEST / Ford Performance J&J has recorded two podium finishes including one win.
That win on May 30th came in thrilling fashion as he was able to out-duel Kyle Larson in a green-white-checkered finish to steal the win.
Schatz has finished on the podium in four of the last five events at Lake Ozark, including another win in 2018. He hasn’t finished outside of the top 10 at the speedway since the Outlaws made their debut in 2005 – a span that covers seven events.
Last weekend, the Outlaws made the final appearances of the season in the state of Pennsylvania with a pair of visits to Port Royal Speedway.
Schatz drove to a seventh-place finish on Friday night and an 11th-place finish on Saturday.
Schatz entered the weekend 70 markers behind point leader Brad Sweet and left Port Royal 68 points behind in third.
