CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 4, 2020) – Donny Schatz is set to make his sixth and seventh appearances with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Models tonight, Nov. 4th and Thursday, Nov. 5th at the Dirt Track at Charlotte.
The two-night Late Model event precedes the season finale for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars on Nov. 6-7th, also at Charlotte.
While Schatz’s Late Model starts in 2020 have been down compared to recent years, he has made the most of those starts. In five events, Schatz has three top 10 finishes with the World of Outlaws Late Models heading into this weekend’s action – the most he’s collected in a single season.
Most recently, he picked up a pair of top 10 finishes at tracks in his home state of North Dakota in August. He charged from 15th to 10th on August 18th at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo before nearly picking up a top-five the following night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, driving from eighth to sixth.
In 10 Late Model appearances at the Dirt Track at Charlotte, Schatz has a best finish of ninth in 2014. In 2016, he turned in a thrilling performance in the main event, racing from 27th to 15th.
His most recent Late Model start at the speedway came in 2018 where he finished 16th in the A-main.
Schatz last turned laps in his Late Model in September at River Cities Speedway where he recorded an eighth-place finish with the NLRA Late Models at the Prelude to the Johnny.
