FARGO, N.D. (February 23, 2022) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series schedule fires back up this weekend with events at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Friday, February 25th and at The Rev in Monroe, Louisiana on Saturday, February 26th.

Following a strong start to the season at the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, 10-time series champion Donny Schatz looks to carry that momentum into the second weekend of the Outlaws’ schedule.

The World of Outlaws criss-cross all over the country year after year and Schatz has won in nearly every state the series has visited. However, the state of Mississippi is one that still needs to be checked off of Schatz’s list.

In 12 career starts in the Magnolia State, Schatz’s best finish came in 2007 at Pike County Speedway where he finished second to Joey Saldana. Last year, the Greatest Show on Dirt made their debut at Magnolia Motor Speedway where Schatz came home a respectable fourth.

Louisiana is another state at which Schatz has yet to win, but he has just two career World of Outlaws starts in the Bayou State. Last year, he came home third in the Outlaws’ debut at The Rev. His first career start in Louisiana came in 2004 at Thunder Valley Speedway where he finished ninth in the main event.

Fast Start
Schatz picked up the season opener win at Volusia Speedway Park on February 10th. The win solidified the encouraging way the 2021 season ended for the Tony Stewart Racing No. 15 team and was the first tally on a list of high expectations for the 2022 season.

Schatz led all 25 laps en route to his 303rd career World of Outlaws win, despite a brief challenge for the lead from Kyle Larson on a restart with four to go.

Schatz concluded the DIRTcar Nationals sprint week with seventh and sixth place finishes, respectively.

Schatz currently sits second in the point standings, 14 markers behind leader David Gravel.

Late Model Week

Schatz wrapped up his DIRTcar Nationals by competing in his Schatz Crossroads Rocket XR1 with both the DIRTcar Late Models and World of Outlaws Case Late Models. Schatz’s week was highlighted by an 11th place effort on Feb. 15th with the DIRTcar Late Models. Schatz already has nine Late Model starts in 2022 with his best result being a pair of 10th place finishes at the Wild West Shootout at Vado Speedway Park back in January.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
