FARGO, N.D. (April 10, 2023) – After Mother Nature created a slow start to the year, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series schedule is moving right along, full speed ahead. The series has now completed events in four consecutive weeks after it took nearly a month to get the first five races in the books to start the season.
Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team have the next two tracks on their calendar circled, with stops at two of Schatz’s favorite circuits – Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri and Knoxville Raceway at the Sprint Car Capital of the World in Knoxville, Iowa.
The Outlaws head to I-55 this weekend for a spring doubleheader, which will serve as a prelude to the Ironman weekend later this year in August.
Schatz has two career wins at the high-banked one-third mile oval and has a total of 18 podium finishes in 45 starts, including nine runner-up finishes. In three starts at I-55 last year, Schatz collected a pair of fourth place finishes and a 9th place effort at the lone April race.
Over his past five starts at the speedway, Schatz finished inside the top 10 in each race with an average finish of 6.4.
The following weekend, the Greatest Show on Dirt heads to the famed Marion County Fairgrounds half-mile of Knoxville Raceway. Unforgettably, Schatz scored his 11th Knoxville Nationals title in August to highlight his 2023 season.
Schatz will be looking to get back on top this weekend, following finishes of 11th last Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri and 13th at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Saturday.
The 10-time series champion currently sits seventh in the standings, 126 markers out of the lead.
Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
