FARGO, N.D. (June 16, 2023) – Donny Schatz and the rest of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series regulars are about to embark on a historic ‘Summer of Money’, which kicks off this weekend in the heart of Dairy country with the annual running of the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial at Beaver Dam Raceway.
Schatz is coming off a pair of races at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway, his first appearance at the famed half-mile since winning his 11th Knoxville Nationals championship last August.
Schatz won the KSE hard charger award at the conclusion of Friday night’s feature after climbing from his 15th starting spot to finish ninth. Schatz was in contention for the award for the second night in-a-row after improving from his starting spot on the outside of row ten, finishing 12th.
This weekend, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series heads to Wisconsin for the first time this season for the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial at Beaver Dam Raceway. Saturday night’s feature will mark the beginning of the ‘Summer of Money’, as it will net the winner a $20,000 payday.
Schatz’s record at Beaver Dam includes two victories, alongside 16 top five finishes, including his most recent showing at the track last June, which was a runner-up performance.
Schatz also has 24 top tens in his 30 appearances at the one-third mile oval. Schatz has only missed one World of Outlaws show held at the track, held in May of 1996 while he was chasing his WISSOTA 360 National Championship.
Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
