FARGO, N.D. (July 3, 2023) – Cedar Lake Speedway hosted its annual Independence Day Spectacular, featuring the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, over the weekend. The doubleheader was highlighted by Schatz’s eighth-place run on Saturday night.
Schatz got the weekend kicked off with a 10th place run in time trials on Friday night. He went on to finish the evening 14th in the main event.
Saturday went smoother for the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team. Schatz qualified 13th quick before finishing second in his heat and making an appearance in the Toyota Dash.
After finishing fifth in the dash, Schatz rolled off inside row three for the 35 lap feature, where he came home in eighth.
This week, the World of Outlaws stay in the Midwest with events at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa on Friday and Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin on Saturday. Schatz has wins at both facilities – he is a 2014 winner at 34 Raceway and won at Wilmot Raceway in 2019.
