FARGO, N.D. (July 10, 2023) – Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart Racing team have found some speed as of late, collecting top five finishes in their last two World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series events as the Sprint Car world comes together this week for the biggest four days in the history of the sport. 

Schatz finished fourth on Saturday night at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin after leading 15 laps of the feature. Schatz grabbed the early at the drop of the green flag over Carson Macedo and pulled away. 

Approaching lapped traffic, Macedo was able to reel in the Carquest / Ford Performance No. 15. The two ran wheel-to-wheel for two consecutive laps before Macedo was able to grab the point. Shortly thereafter, the yellow flag was displayed. 

On the restart, Schatz got bogged down in the low groove and lost positions to Brad Sweet and Bill Balog to put him in fourth. Schatz would go on to finish the 40 lapper in the fourth position. 

Friday night’s scheduled event at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, IA was postponed due to weather. 

The Outlaws were back in action on Tuesday night for the annual Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway. 

Schatz, a five-time winner at Attica, put on a masterful drive, racing from 14th to finish fourth. The 10-time series champion was one of the few drivers running the low groove and used it to perfection to drive through the field. 

On Wednesday and Thursday, Schatz will be at Eldora Speedway for the Eldora Million – a one million dollar-to-win Sprint Car race in Rossburg, Ohio. The week isn’t done after that. Eldora Speedway will then host the Knight Before the Kings Royal and the 40th annual Kings Royal – an event in which Schatz is a five time winner.
