FARGO, N.D. (Sept. 19, 2023) – The three-week California swing came to a close over the weekend with stops at King’s Speedway and Placerville Speedway.

After transferring into the feature through the last chance showdown on Friday night at King’s Speedway, Schatz had his elbows up in the 35-lap main event. Schatz rolled off 22nd on the grid but was passing cars early. He cracked the top 15 by lap five and continued on to score a top 10 finish. Schatz brought the Advance Auto Parts / Ford Performance No. 15 home in 10th to go plus-12 in the feature and collect the night’s hard charger award.

The Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing team battled mechanical issues on Saturday night at Placerville, which forced Schatz into the work area during the main event. The crew was able to get the 10-time series champion back onto the track, but Schatz was forced to restart from the tail of the field. Schatz scratched and clawed for each position and came across the checkers in 17th.

The World of Outlaws now head east to Ohio for their final stop of the season at the Big E – Eldora Speedway on Friday night.

In six starts at Eldora this season, Schatz has three podium finishes and is the most recent winner at the speedway, which came on July 15 at the Kings Royal.

On Saturday, the Greatest Show on Dirt will head to Sharon Speedway in Sharon, Ohio where Schatz is also the most recent World of Outlaws winner. Schatz scored his first career Sharon win earlier this season on May 20th, where he was the class of the field that night. Schatz was second quick in qualifying, won his heat, the dash, and led 28 of 30 laps in the feature en route to the win.

Schatz is currently fifth in the standings, sitting 390 behind leader Brad Sweet.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
