FARGO, N.D. (October 9, 2023) – Following the final races of the season against the Pennsylvania Posse over the last two weekends, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars will head back to America’s heartland this weekend with a pair of events in the state of Kansas. From there, a doubleheader at the birthplace of the World of Outlaws, Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, and the World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte are all that remain on the 2023 World of Outlaws campaign. 

The Outlaws will make their second appearance of the season and sixth-ever visit to 81 Speedway near Witchita on Friday. Donny Schatz has two career victories at the three-eighths mile oval, coming in 2006 where he led all 25 laps and 2017 where he led all 30. 

He finished 13th at the track back on April 8th and has an average finish of 5.6 over the previous five events. 

The Outlaws will make their annual stop at Lakeside Speedway near Kansas City on Saturday. This will be the first visit of the season for the Outlaws, but Schatz has already competed at the big, fast half-mile this year. Schatz was in action at Lakeside on April 11th for the season opener for the High Limit Sprint Car Series where he finished 8th. 

Schatz has two career victories at Lakeside, which came in 2019 where he started fifth and led 18 laps and in 2015 where he charged from 10th to lead the final four. In 14 career starts at the track, Schatz has collected 12 top 10 finishes. Last year, he raced from 15th to finish eighth. 

Over the weekend at Port Royal Speedway, Schatz recorded finishes of 23rd and 26th, respectively on Friday and Saturday night. 

He sits sixth in the standings heading into this weekend’s action.
