FARGO, N.D. (August 28, 2024) – The World of Outlaws made their final stop of the season to Schatz Country last weekend with visits to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks and Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo.

After running fifth and 11th, Schatz is still second in the standings, 110 points behind David Gravel. However, after Carson Macedo swept the weekend, the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 is now just four points behind Schatz heading into a big weekend at Huset’s Speedway.

Schatz timed in 11th quick at River Cities and ran third in his heat, just missing a spot into the dash. That put Schatz 11th on the grid for the feature.

In true Schatz fashion, he was fastest when it counted at the end of the race, passing cars and battling for a spot inside the top five. After some very close racing for position and with lapped traffic, Schatz secured a top five spot at the checkers, finishing fifth.

On Saturday, the series made the 80 mile trip south to Red River Valley Speedway.

Schatz went out early in qualifying which typically is an advantage, but due to the amount of water put on the track to start the night, the track seemed to be the fastest towards the end of the qualifying flight.

Schatz timed in 13th quick and went fifth to fourth in his heat race, putting him 10th in the feature lineup.

The track widened out nicely for the feature, giving two racing grooves. Schatz worked to battle his way forward for a flat right rear tire in the closing stages sent him to the back of the lead lap.

Schatz didn’t have much time to move forward from there. He crossed the line in 11th.

Saturday was also the Danny Schatz Memorial for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. A Red River Valley Speedway record 23 Sprints were checked in for the event. Princeton, Minnesota driver Tyler Rabenberg took home the $1,515 payday.

This weekend is the rescheduled Huset’s High Bank Nationals at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota. Schatz has four career World of Outlaws win at Huset’s, with the most recent victory coming in 2016.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support – Carquest Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, Curb Records, Ford Performance, Sage Fruit, Mobil 1, Absolute Automation & Security, J&J Auto Racing, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts
