Fargo, N.D. (March 23, 2025) – Donny Schatz raced to his first top five finish of the 2025 campaign on Friday night at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas. The solid finish for the 10-time World of Outlaws series champion came after he started the 30-lap feature in the 10th position.

Schatz was in position to pick up back-to-back top five efforts on the weekend until a broken rear axle sent the Advance Auto Parts No. 15 upside down on lap 11, ending his night.

Schatz had put together a strong night up to that point, qualifying 5th, winning his heat, and finishing sixth in the dash.

The Fargo driver was credited with 22nd, but the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian Racing team will be looking to bounce back this weekend at Lawton Speedway in Oklahoma and 81 Speedway in Kansas.

Schatz is a two-time winner at 81 Speedway (2006 and 2017), while he will look for his first career win at Lawton.

After Saturday’s rare DNF, Schatz is currently sixth in the point standings, 200 markers behind leader David Gravel.
