FARGO, N.D. (September 8, 2025) – Donny Schatz debuted in the Kevin Kozlowski “W” Sprint Car, wrenched by Paul Silva over the weekend at Vado Speedway Park in New Mexico. It was the first opportunity for Schatz and Silva, two multi-time Knoxville Nationals champions, to work together. The opening night of the doubleheader at the three-eighths mile, semi-banked oval that lies between Las Cruces, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas was a night of learning and feeling each other out for the three-week California swing.
Schatz went 13th-quick in qualifying, followed up by a fifth-place run in his heat.
After starting 13th in the feature, Schatz took the checkers in 11th.
The second night of action at Vado Speedway Park was canceled due to rain, meaning Schatz and Silva’s next race together will be at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on Friday night. On Saturday, they will head to Perris Auto Speedway before wrapping up the West Coast swing at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.
Schatz currently sits comfortably in the sixth position in the World of Outlaws point standings, 122 points behind Sheldon Haudenschild, who announced last week that he is leaving the Stenhouse Jr. / Marshall Racing team after eight years, and 190 points ahead of Bill Balog.
