FARGO, N.D. (Oct 2, 2025) – A Sprint Car racing crown jewel is up for grabs this weekend with the 63rd running of the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway. A big field of nearly 60 cars is expected to be on hand at the historic half-mile for the $75,000 payday on Saturday.

Donny Schatz will be looking to carry the momentum of last weekend’s runs in Ohio into Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, this weekend as he seeks an unprecedented seventh National Open title.  Schatz is the only driver in history to capture six wins at the National Open, breaking a tie with Steve Kinser with his latest win in 2020.

Since Schatz departed Tony Stewart Racing after the Knoxville Nationals, JVI Group has been a big supporter of the 10-time World of Outlaws champion. Williams Grove Speedway is just down the road from the York Springs, Pennsylvania-based construction company, so Schatz will be up on the wheel to give JVI Group a win in their backyard.

Schatz debuted a second entry for Sides Motorsports, backed by JVI Group and King Racing Products, last weekend at Millstream Speedway and Sharon Speedway. Schatz got buried in qualifying early on both nights, but was able to dig himself out during the feature to collect a pair of top 10 finishes.

Schatz charged from 17th to 10th on Friday night at Millstream and followed that up with a run of 16th to 9th on Saturday at Sharon. It was a strong maiden voyage for Schatz and Sides, who have 12 more races together to close out the 2025 season.

Schatz currently sits sixth in the World of Outlaws standings.
