FARGO, N.D. (October 12, 2026) – Donny Schatz and the CJB Motorsports team continued to show speed over the weekend, collecting a runner-up finish and a fifth-place result during a three-race World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series swing through Ohio.

The three-night Buckeye Brawl kicked off Thursday at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio, where 39 cars checked in for competition. Schatz faced an uphill battle after missing the transfer through his heat race, but rebounded to win the Last Chance Showdown. Starting 21st in the 30-lap feature, the 10-time World of Outlaws champion advanced five positions to finish 16th.

The following night brought a much stronger performance as the series returned to Mansfield Speedway for the first time in 45 years.

Schatz started fourth in Friday’s 30-lap main event and worked his way toward the front aboard the CJB Motorsports No. 15. As the race progressed, Schatz moved into second and set his sights on leader Sheldon Haudenschild. Although he was unable to close the gap enough to challenge for the win, Schatz crossed the finish line in the runner-up position.

“These guys are just working diligently trying to get me where I want. So, man, it seems to be a never-ending process. So hats off to them,” said Schatz of his CJB Motorsports team after the race. “We unloaded okay and then got really good in that heat race, so that helped to get (to the dash).

“I thought I could keep pace with Sheldon (during the feature),” Schatz continued. “When we got to traffic, I thought I’d be able to do something, but he settled himself down, and he did everything right. There’s nothing better than a hometown win.”

The finish marked his third podium in six races as the team continued building momentum during the closing stretch of the 2026 season.

Saturday’s finale at Sharon Speedway saw Schatz put together another impressive performance, highlighted by a victory in the Toyota Dash to earn the pole position for the 30-lap feature.

Starting from the inside of the front row, Schatz jumped out to the early lead and paced the opening 11 circuits. Logan Schuchart eventually worked his way past Schatz on lap 12, with Haudenschild also advancing into contention as the race progressed.

Schatz remained among the frontrunners throughout the remainder of the event, ultimately bringing the No. 15 home in fifth place for his second consecutive top-five finish.

The weekend marked another encouraging stretch for Schatz and the CJB Motorsports team, who have continued to find speed as the World of Outlaws season winds down.

UP NEXT: The World of Outlaws head to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana, on Friday, October 16, followed by Belle-Clair Fairgrounds Park Speedway in Belleville, Illinois, on Saturday, October 17.
