FARGO, N.D. (September 15, 2024) – Donny Schatz had his elbows up over the weekend as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series continued its California swing on Friday and Saturday. Schatz was on the move in both feature events at Bakersfield Speedway and Merced Speedway, passing a total of 13 cars in a pair of top 10 efforts.
Schatz timed in 18th quick in qualifying each night. On Friday, he started the feature 12th and had a nice charge forward to finish seventh.
Schatz had an even more impressive drive on Saturday night after being buried in the starting line-up. The 10-time series champion rolled off 18th, but worked his way forward to finish 10th.
Schatz currently sits third in the point standings, 136 markers behind leader David Gravel.
