FARGO, N.D. (October 28, 2024) – Donny Schatz was on the move again on Friday night at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas. The 10-time World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series champion went plus-12 during the night’s feature, advancing from 18th to sixth. 

The high-banked quarter-mile oval was extremely slick at the start of the 30-lap feature and Schatz used that to his advantage. At the drop of the green flag, drivers fought for position on the preferred groove right up around the outside retaining wall. , but Schatz tip-toed his Carquest / Ford Performance No. 15 around the bottom. 

By lap six, Schatz was already in the 10th position. By lap 15, he was in sixth and looking to crack inside the top five. By then, rubber had already been laid down on the surface. The once preferred high groove was then replaced by the strip of rubber laid down in the middle of the track. 

Passing became extremely hard and Schatz was forced to ride in line to a sixth-place finish. His early efforts in the race were enough to get him the night’s KSE Hard Charger award. 

Schatz’s charge forward in Friday’s feature has been a constant theme all season long. Schatz’s start/finish differential is now at plus-279, according to SprintCarRatings.com, meaning he has advanced 279 positions overall during feature events this season. 

The closest World of Outlaws driver is Logan Schuchart who has gained 137 positions, more than half of Schatz’s total. 

Saturday’s event at Riverside was canceled due to rain. 

The final event on the 2024 World of Outlaws schedule will be the World of Outlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. 

Schatz is currently third in the standings with a 104 point buffer over Buddy Kofoid who is fourth.
