FARGO, N.D. (June 2, 2025) – The Greatest Show on Dirt invaded Schatz Country over the weekend with stops at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday and Schatz’s home track, Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, on Saturday.

Schatz recorded third place finishes in both events, but the nights couldn’t have been more different.

Schatz endured issues right off the bat on Friday as he wasn’t able to hot lap. The Carquest crew did get the No. 15 out to qualify, where Schatz went 15th quick, setting up a fourth place starting position in his heat.

Schatz finished fourth in the heat, putting him 15th on the grid for the 40-lap feature.

Schatz used the low groove to perfect to pick his way through the field. He broke into the top 10 on lap 13 and made his presence known in the top five with a big move by Carson Macedo and Logan Schuchart in the same corner to take fourth.

From there, Schatz moved by Gio Scelzi for third before the track took rubber. Schatz went on to take third behind Buddy Kofoid and David Gravel.

Schatz’s path to the podium was much different on Saturday. The 10-time series champion went eighth quick in qualifying and finished second in his heat before winning the dash to earn the pole position for the feature.

In the main event, Schatz had a fast car but settled into second behind Sheldon Haudenschild. Haudenschild ran a near-perfect caution-free 30 laps as he was able to go on to win. Schatz reeled in Haudenschild a couple of times in lapped traffic, but was never able to steal the lead away from the Wooster, Ohio driver. In the closing laps, World of Outlaws points leader David Gravel snuck by Schatz for second.

This week, the Outlaws set out on a four-race swing over the next five nights. They kick things off at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, on Wednesday before three straight nights in Wisconsin. Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday and Angell Park Speedway on Sunday will round out the weekend.

Schatz enters the week sitting sixth in the point standings, 100 markers behind Haudenschild.
