Hard-Charger, Rain, Heartbreak describe World of Outlaws opener for Schatz
FARGO, N.D. (February 8, 2021) – The 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car season got underway last weekend with the running of the 50th DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team rolled into Florida and proved they have found some speed over the short offseason. Schatz’s 25th season with the World of Outlaws kicked off on Friday, but he found himself in a hole early after timing in 18th quick and finishing in the fifth and final transfer spot in his heat, putting him 18th on the grid for the 30-lapper.
Schatz shines in All Star season opener at Screven
SYLVANIA, Georgia (January 30, 2021) - Donny Schatz raced to his first sprint car victory of the 2021 season on Friday night at the All Star Circuit of Championships’ season opener at Screven Motor Speedway. Schatz started fourth on the grid for the 30-lap, $8,000-to-win main event. Biding his time early, Schatz remained in the fourth position until leader Sheldon Haudenschild found trouble on lap six. From there, Schatz remained patient in the third position behind Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and Tyler Courtney, respectively. FARGO, N.D. (January 26, 2021) – Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team opened their 2021 season last weekend at the inaugural Wild Wing Shootout at Arizona Speedway in San Tan Valley, Arizona. The three-race weekend kicked off on Friday, January 22nd where Schatz turned in his best performance of the event. Schatz set quick time during qualifying and followed that up with a drive from fifth to second in the feature.
